Donald Trump’s oldest sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, who died yesterday at the age of 86, made these comments on tape about her brother who was president at the time:
“His goddamned tweets and the lying — oh, my God. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying.
All he wants to do is appeal to his base. He has no principles. None. It’s the phoniness and this cruelty. Donald is cruel….You can’t trust him.”
Maryanne Barry wasn’t a ne’er-do-well. She was a well respected judge who was elevated to the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in New Jersey in 1993 by President Bill Clinton.
Ms. Barry had one son, David William Desmond, a clinical psychologist who whas a bit more mild mannered when referring to the ex-president.
He said recently that he hoped one day his Uncle Trump, who could be our president again, "would see the error of his ways".
