Americans rent over 23 million storage units in 50,000+ facilities and spend $2.5 billion each year maintaining them.
While I don’t have one myself, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how much shit I have and what do about it.
It’s overwhelming and I’m not alone. Everyone I know in my age group is struggling with the same thing.
Will my daughter want any of this stuff when I’m gone?
Not a chance.
Shall I set the house on fire and get rid of it all at once so I don’t have to think about it anymore?
Probably not a good idea….
When it comes right down to it, I could get by just fine if all I had was my phone, my laptop, my guitar, my beat up old truck, a pie plate, and a spoon. Oh, and maybe an overcoat....
If only things were that simple.
