The word, "fake" is in the news a lot so we may as well substitute it for the word, "artificial" when describing the latest developments like ChatGPT....except that it's not fake. It's here to stay and is about to become more interesting. I still remember Hal, the "Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic" computer in the 1968 movie, "2001 A Space Odyssey". "Heuristic" and "Algorithmic" are two primary processes of intelligence.
That was 55 years ago and science fiction has once again caught up to us, thereby compromising the word, "fiction". There's no doubt in my mind that intelligent beings from extra-terrestrial bodies have been visiting us for years and continue to do so in a form that we as humans can not yet comprehend. Arthur C. Clark understood this and invented HAL as a precursor to what's ahead.
We may as well get used to the fact that circuit boards made by robots will one day replace blood and guts encased in a form that can only be imagined.
