Many of us were not only outraged by President Trump’s behavior while he was in office, we passed along a fair amount of that anger to Mike Pence, perhaps unfairly.
The Vice President often stood behind Mr. Trump as the President rambled incoherently, while Pence did all he could to maintain his composure.
Short of resigning, which would have been the noble thing to do, Pence obviously felt he had no choice but to remain complicit in an immoral and corrupt administration.
While I disagree with Pence on most policy issues, I do believe he is a good man who made a tragic error by signing on with Trump in the first place.
Despite incredible pressure to do otherwise, we must give him credit though for saving our Democracy by doing the right thing and certifying the 2020 election.
In one final nod to virtue as Pence announced yesterday that he was dropping out of the race, he urged Republicans to, “give our country a Republican standard-bearer that will, as Lincoln said, appeal to the better angels of our nature.”
Obviously he was referring to his former boss.
I guess we forgot the many scenes of Pence kissing trump’s ass during meetings, appearances,etc.
