SCARED TO DEATH....2/9/23

Major donors and Republican operatives are terrified at the thought of Trump getting the nomination for president in 2024 because they know he will lose against Joe Biden. Most of them won't say it out loud but they are already laying the groundwork to come up with a single strong candidate who can compete.

This sounds easier than it is. If Trump draws a bunch of opponents and they end up staying in the race until the bloody end, he would get the nod since he commands about a third of the base - the others would fracture the count and hand the nomination to Trump on a silver platter.

On the other hand, if they can limit the contenders to just 1 strong candidate, that person may have a chance of defeating the soiled ex. The thing is that once these people get a taste of the fame, fortune, and power that they think is within their reach, they are not likely to give that up for the sake of saving the Republican Party, which is what the bosses want.

Yes, politics certainly is a gladiator sport.
