Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running for president as a Democrat against Joe Biden.
He also thinks that mass shootings are linked to Prozac (they’re not), that there was extensive voter fraud in the 2004 presidential election between George W. Bush and John Kerry (there wasn’t), that the CIA was involved in the assassination of his uncle, John F. Kennedy (there’s no proof), that the wrong guy was convicted of killing his father (again there’s no proof), that the pharmaceutical industry supports Democrats over Republicans (it’s actually the opposite), that gun ownership in the US is the same as in Sweden (it’s not), that COVID-19 was a bio-weapon (there’s no evidence), that Dr. Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates exaggerated the pandemic to sell vaccines for their own profit (they didn’t), that vaccines cause autism (there’s no link), and that we should let the markets deal with climate change.
Kennedy’s wife and family both distance themselves from many of the candidate’s fringe beliefs as do most Democrats, even though he enjoys the support of 20% of them.
But….his popularity is growing because he’s tapping into the “rage against the machine” and playing loose with the facts by following the exact same playbook as Donald Trump.
Here’s something to consider. Some pundits are suggesting that Trump pick Kennedy as his running mate.
It would be a dystopian nightmare if they were to succeed.
