The venom that pervades our national discourse has reached the Catholic Church with with a priest in Wisconsin calling for the assassination of his boss, Pope Francis.
A few weeks ago, Father James Altman shared a video on X where he said: "The best thing we could do, would be to tie the great millstone around Jorge Bergoglio's neck and throw him into the deep blue Mediterranean Sea."
Jorge Bergoglio is the Pope’s birth name.
In another post the friar showed a photoshopped picture of the Pope sitting next to a depiction of the Devil with the caption, “Birds of a feather.”
To illustrate Altman’s rage, a few years earlier he declared on YouTube that no one could be a Democrat and a Catholic at the same time, and that they certainly would not be admitted to Heaven because of their position on abortion.
The rogue priest has had his hand slapped by the higher-ups but he still gets to keep his collar.
The video of his intolerance went viral and the priest received over $750,000 to help support his cause
