Donald J. Trump is scheduled to be formally arraigned today for multiple felonies, the first president or ex-president in the history of our Nation to be so charged. It's very probable that this will not be his last, and it's very possible that Trump could end up in prison - or as President again.
My brief time on Earth has included other consequential milestones such as the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the JFK Assassination, the First Moon Landing, the passing of the Civil Rights Act, the Vietnam War, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Terrorist Attacks on 9/11, the tumultuous Trump Presidency, the Pandemic, the January 6th Insurrection, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Rise of China, the explosion of Artificial Intelligence, the beginnings of the severe impact of Climate Change on our planet....and now this.
We've survived past challenges and there will be others, perhaps even more dire than those listed above. We can only hope for the sake of our children and grandchildren that our institutions will remain intact, and that young people will continue to be afforded the same opportunities we've all had.
