I’ve been accused of partisanship in the past, and having been a Democrat all my life, I’ll admit it can sometimes obstruct my view as to what’s happening on my side.

So a lot of talk has been made about how Trump will seek retribution against those he doesn’t like if he’s re-elected. He actually says it out loud.

But then there’s Democratic Senator Bob Menendez who is under indictment for corruption.

Yesterday before the Senate left for the Holidays, he placed the confirmation of 2 non-controversial nominees on hold - one as USDA undersecretary of Rural Development and another for a seat on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Why? Because they fell under the authority of Agricultural Committee Chair and fellow Senator, Debbie Stabenow, who called for Menendez to resign after he was arrested for bribery.

I can just hear him muttering, “Take that, Debbie!”, as he prepares himself for a likely prison stay.

I've often wondered what it would be like to be homeless.

To have to search several times a day for a place to relieve myself, often in places of unbearable stench where hundreds of others have done the same thing.

To dig through the trash can outside of McDonald's in an attempt to find a half-eaten burger or a few fries, but having to settle for an unopened packet of ketchup as my meal for the day.

To have all of my world's possessions in a shopping cart soaked by rain, or worse yet, stolen.

To be assaulted for fun by young thugs.....

....all knowing that I had done my best, but yet it wasn't enough.

Homelessness increased 12% this past year, the highest jump ever recorded in the wealthiest country in the world.

It doesn't appear that the 9 members of the Supreme Court will get much sleep over the next few weeks - that is if they spend the time it takes to properly think things through rather than acting on political impulse as they often do.

Most importantly they will have to look up the word, "insurrection" in the dictionary and then decide whether or not it applies to the former president's behavior on January 6th, 2021and beyond.

Four smart justices of the Colorado Supreme Court have one definition of the word and the other three looked at things a different way.

I would bet good money that the majority of the US court sides with the minority on the Colorado bench.

Many of us feared that with the election of Donald Trump in 2016, and the real possibility that he would get an opportunity to stack the bench in his favor, this sort of thing would occur.

It has and will for a long time to come.
